Why Does The Farm Turkey Cross The Road….

Farm turkeys in the road

Yes, it is to get to the other side where the grass seed is ‘greener’ (more plentiful), but there is more involved as well.

Here the turkeys are holding up traffic…BUT when everyone that was stopped in the rural traffic jam goes on their way this day, they will be ‘talking turkey’ to everyone they come in contact with. Within a very short while, most everyone around will know that this farm is raising turkeys and may stop in to see if they can purchase one for the holidays. These turkeys are actually creating traffic for the farm.

No. I am not advocating that you train your turkeys or other livestock to take to the streets to create traffic and more customers for you. I do suggest that you have some of your livestock within view of the road. Any action will catch people’s eyes and they will remember what and where your farm is better that those that are out of view.

Let folks get out to take pictures. They will tell their friends about your place. This is especially true now with social media. If they post their pics on places like FaceBook or Tweet about it through Twitter, news about your farm could go viral! You may be an Internet sensation and not even know it!
