Sometimes we think that everything is wonderful and that we are the best. BUT what if you can be better? Do you really attract customers to your farm, garden center, or nursery? What kind of image are you projecting to your regular customers and potential customers? Many times you may ask family, friends, co-workers, and customers about what they think of some aspect of your business, and they will say how great or wonderful it is. BUT is that really true? Are they hiding the truth to protect you?
I was watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares with Chef Ramsey. In this one, the husband was protecting his wife, who was the cook, from finding out how awful her regular food was instead of trying to improve the food to get more customers to come in and enjoy the food and atmosphere. He was dumping the food in the trash and preventing her from finding out the real truth because her reactions were so bad. Then both of them would be arguing loudly and screaming at their customers and kicking the customers out and firing their staff all the time if they said or did something they just didn’t like.
I think we can all take a lesson from this. It is to step back and . Then what things can you improve on. Even if they seem tiny to you, you still may get a few more customers because of these changes.
